The 10th Annual Meeting of Biocultural Collections was be held at the Botanic Institute of Montpellier in conjunction with the 13th Congress of the International Society of Ethnobiology. After a short introduction to the organization and a review of activities over the previous year: both Missouri Botanical Garden and Kew have hosted international meetings to establish networks, curation standards and databases for Biocultural Collections, presentations were followed by discussions of next steps and working group priorities. The Botanic Institute (http://www.aluka.org/page/about/partners/france_mpu.jsp with 4,000,000 specimens) displayed some of their most historic collections during the meeting. First created by order of Henri IV in 1593 for Pierre Richer de Belleval (1564- 1632), Montpellier Botanical Garden is now the property of the University of Montpellier I and is classified as a Historical Monument and Protected Site. http://www.ot-montpellier.fr/en/the-botanical-garden
